Vidushan Ovitigala

(Lectures in Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (BA3) at Certificate Level)

Vidushan Ovitigala is a dedicated lecturer and finance professional with a deep passion for Financial Accounting and education. He brings a combination of academic excellence and practical experience to the classroom, helping students build a solid foundation in core accounting principles.

Vidushan holds a First-Class Honours Degree in B.Sc. Accounting (Special) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is a fully qualified CIMA member, an ACCA finalist, and was ranked 6th in Sri Lanka at the 2019 GCE A/L Examination – a testament to his academic excellence.

He began his corporate career at John Keells Holdings PLC—Group Finance, one of Sri Lanka’s leading conglomerates, where he developed strong expertise in financial reporting and corporate accounting. He also worked as the Assistant Manager of Finance and Accounting at Analytix.lk, a prominent financial services company supporting global and domestic clients. He also serves as the Director of Finance at the Colombo Independent Debate Society, demonstrating his commitment to leadership and youth development.

He began his lecturing journey in 2021 through the Sirasa Lakshapathi Lantharuma programme and currently lectures in Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (BA3) at Certificate Level at Wisdom Business Academy. His teaching style is student-focused, exam-oriented, and rooted in both academic and professional insights, ensuring students are well-prepared to succeed.
