Salma Yusuf is a Senior International Consultant with an extensive track record of nearly 15 years, encompassing diverse sectors within Sri Lanka, regionally and internationally. She has served and continues to serve the United Nations, Commonwealth, international and national private and corporate sectors, national and foreign governments, civil society, academia, media and journalism, and international institutions
Salma is widely regarded for her expertise in Sustainable Development, Law, Ethics and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
She has been a lecturer at the University of Colombo, University in the UK, and is currently a Visiting Faculty at a University in Spain.
She has extensive research experience, and demonstrated thought leadership for national and international initiatives. She has published extensively in scholarly journals including the Seattle Journal of Social Justice, Sri Lanka Journal of International Law, Frontiers of Legal Research, American Journal of Social Welfare and Human Rights, Journal of Human Rights in the Commonwealth, International Affairs Review, Harvard Asia Quarterly, and The Diplomat.
She is an International Finance Corporation-trained consultant on Respectful Workplaces. She develops programs and policies and conducts inquiries on Anti-Harassment, Bullying and Diversity Equity and Inclusion for organizations. Further, she is serves as an Independent Ombudsperson for inquiries and appeal processes in organizations.
She has a Master of Law in Public International Law from Queen Mary University of London and a Bachelor of Law with Honours from the University of London. She is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and specializes in civil law including Corporate and Commercial law.
She has completed specialized fellowships from the University of Toronto, the University of Canberra, and the American University of Washington.
In recognition of her professional acumen and technical leadership contributions, she has received recognition and awards from the United Nations, the Commonwealth, the European Union, the Foreign Ministry of France, and the United States Government.
